Many people struggle with food and especially with portion control. They often know that they are not eating the right kinds of food and even worse, eating more than they should. Balancing what we eat and the amount is super hard and even harder in the midst of a global pandemic when stress levels are through the roof. Fear not. There is hope. Every single person can make progress in this area of their life by using one simple principal....take small bit sizes. No I am not speaking about eating smaller amounts although that may also be helpful. I am referring to making progress in how we eat by just taking small steps. Although most of us can't change our entire diet or our eating habits overnight, we can make significant progress over a year's time. Consider introducing one new healthy food into your diet just once a month and keep track of the change you make. Think about restricting what you eat for a just few hours a day just once a week. You can choose a specific day and time and just be more careful about not eating "bad" foods during that period of time. It may not feel like this will drastically change your diet or your health but in reality this is the best way to create real long term change. Give it a try you will likely surprise yourself and how much benefit you will gain.
