The Gift of Life a Thank You To Mothers

Had a crazy experience one time. As I was waiting for a meeting to start a man walked into the room holding a young child. The man worked in the building and for some reason had to take his son to work with him. The boy looked to be about 4 or 5 years old and had absolutely the sweetest face. I was struck by his adorable expression and how comfortable he felt in his father's arms. I suddenly realized that this man was actually someone from my neighborhood who recently lost his young wife to cancer, and this boy was without a mother. As soon as that thought hit me I completely lost it and the tears started flowing. It happened so fast that I wasn’t even sure why I was crying, but to be honest it was a bit embarrassing being in a room full of people without even a box of tissues. Once I did think about it I realized that although I was crying for this man who was now responsible to be the father and mother to his kids, my tears were mainly for this young adorable child.

I was crying for a child who no longer had a mother whose arms he could run into upon returning home from pre-school;

A child without a mother who could read his mind as he was throwing a tantrum and who knew exactly how to help him reset;

A child without a mother to brush his wet hair after his bath and who could sing him his favorite song while being tucked into bed.

As all these thoughts passed through my mind and I tried to compose myself, I was so grateful for the gift of my own very special wife who is an amazing mother and who does so much every day, much of which I don’t even see and can never fully appreciate. Thank you to all mothers out there (including my own) and I ask you all to please keep this young boy in your hearts when you pray for your own children. I'm sure his mother will be so grateful for all your heartfelt prayers.

Moral of the story is …. we only get one life lets make the most of it by taking care of our body and our health. The work we put in now, while we still can, we will never regret. With as little as 30-40 minutes twice a week we can feel so much better and know that we are investing into our greatest asset, the gift of our life. If you are already exercising regularly then go ahead and say thank you to your wife or mother and let them know how much you appreciate them. If you are not currently exercising consider starting your training this week to show your creator that you do appreciate the gift of life and that you don't take your health for granted. If you are lost feel free to reach out and I can help you get started. Trust me, your current & future grandchildren will thank you for it.

Share this with your wife, mother, sister or anyone who can use some inspiration. Let's get healthier together!
